Sungai Congkak Recreational Forest - Another wonderful spot in the Park

Welcome to our guest writer Siti Fatimah!

Sungai Congkak recreational forest, also known as Congkak Park & Resort, is a
popular recreational site in Taman Warisan Negeri Selangor.  Located in the Hulu Langat area of the Park, Sg. Congkak makes for a quick get-away and fun family outing.

As the name suggests, Sungai Congkak is a beautiful river, that originates in the Park.  The recreation site has many spots along the river banks for a picnic and swim.  The river is refreshing, and there are quite a few shallow areas, so there are plenty of spots for family fun.

The site is an easy drive just off state road B52.  It takes about an hour and half drive from KL city centre with kampung sights to enjoy before reaching the park. As you wind along the kampung road, it is hard to believe you are so close to the busiest urban area in Malaysia!

The site is run by Tourism Selangor and gets very popular on the weekends.  Along the road leading into the recreational forest, there are numerous river-side chalets and picnic spots, run by private individuals, which you can also rent for a day.  The road in is narrow, so with all the cars and picnickers, it can be a bit difficult getting in and out on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Inside the Sg. Congkak area are trails to enjoy as well, but a guide is required and must be booked in advance. Guides cost RM10.60 per person with a minimum of 10 person. There is also night walk for RM21.20 per person.

Entrance fee is RM1.05 (with MyKad) RM 5.30 (without MyKad) and it is free for children under 12 years. Parking is available in front of the main entrance.

Other facilities includes within the Sungai Congkak recreational forest include:
Open Field with Astaka =  RM424.00 per day
Campsite                       = RM10.60 per night
Open hall (50 pax          = RM106.00 per day
Assembly area (30 pax)  = RM53.00 per day
