Happy 8th Anniversary Taman Warisan!

Thank you so much for all your support.  We have some good news, and some not so good news.  The good news is that Taman Warisan Negeri Selangor is celebrating its 8th anniversary since it was gazetted on 25 January 2007.  The not so good news is that in the recent Laporan Tinjauan Kajian Rancangan Struktur Negeri Selangor 2035 (Review of Selangor Structure Plans 2035), there is almost NO mention of the Park throughout the entire report.

So we are asking our good friends to help send a 'Happy Anniversary' message to the MB, to remind him that this wonderful Park does exist.

Can you copy the message below in blue, along with the image in this post, and email it to the MB, his assistant, and the Director of the Selangor Forestry Department?

The Park and the creatures that live in it are very, very grateful.

Subject:  Happy 8th Anniversary to Taman Warisan Negeri Selangor!

YAB Dato’ Menteri Besar,

It has been 8 years since the Selangor State Government gazetted the Selangor State Park, or Taman Warisan Negeri Selangor, as a ‘state park’ under the National Forestry Act Selangor Enactment, on 25 Jan. 2007.

We would like to express our thanks to the Park, for all the resources it provides to us, including clean water, fresh air, flood control and a home to a vast number of animals and plants, including the magnificent Klang Gates Quartz Ridge.

We would also like to express our thanks to the Selangor State Government and the Selangor Forestry Department, for recognizing the important role this forest plays and making it one of the largest ‘protected areas’ in Peninsula Malaysia.

Without this Park, we cannot have the economic development and quality of life in Selangor that we enjoy now.

Thank you, Taman Warisan Negeri Selangor for protecting us.  Thank you, Selangor State Government, for protecting the Park.  Please keep this area for the future!
